A child’s early years are among the most important in their life
St. Panteleimon Nursery school is there to help every child develop emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually in a safe, happy and stimulating environment.
St Panteleimon Nursery School
St. Panteleimon Nursery School was first registered in 2007. It caters for all children of the Greek Orthodox Community and the local area. The Nursery School is Ofsted inspected.
The premises are safe, secure, bright and suitable for all children.
They provide good space, are welcoming to children and offer access to the necessary facilities for a range of activities which promote children’s learning, development and independence.
The manager is a qualified Nursery Teacher with an EYPS (Early years professional Status) & an MA in Special Education.
All members of staff are highly professional and committed.
They show personal interest and care to each individual child.
Each child has a Key person. The Key persons are able to observe, assess and record how each child is developing. They share this information with the parents/carers of the children and together they plan how to extend and develop each child’s interests, skills and experiences and where to give support if necessary.
Children can be enrolled from the age of 2 years old to 5 years old.
The Nursery is open from 8.00 am to 5.00pm each week day during term time only.
Eligible children from the age of 2 years old, and all 3-5 years old children can get the government funding, which covers up to 15 hours per week. For any additional hours, parents/carers have to pay an additional fee agreed with the manager.
At St. Panteleimon Nursery School we respect and celebrate diversity.
We work in close partnership with parents/carers and families, as well as the whole community.
We organise special events, such as bazaars to support children in need.
We celebrate all children’s birthdays, as well as most of the main religious and cultural festivals.
At the end of each academic year we usually organise a sports day and an international food day.
We have parents ‘evenings and ongoing meetings with the parents/carers where we discuss each child’s progress. Written achievement reports are given every term to all children at the age of 2.5, 3, 4, and an additional one by the end of the reception.
After each half-term a newsletter with important Nursery information is handed out to the parents/carers.
Furniture, equipment and toys are provided which are age-appropriate for their purpose and help to create an accessible and stimulating environment for all children.
